Page 4 of 5: Drill 2

  1. This is Drill 2. Click on Drill 2a, and hear the question "Do birds fly?".

  2. Instead of answering it, make a simple origination about your case that won't require anything other than being acknowledged. Say the sessions are really going well or something like that.

  3. Click the "I made a simple origination" link under "My pc actions". Do this in addition to saying your origination aloud. Assume the student understood what you said, as it should have been very straightforward. Hear the student ignore your origination about your case, and treat it as a comment, "I'll repeat the auditing question--Do birds fly?"

  4. Say aloud "Flunk! You ignored the pc's origination. Start!" and press the "Student ignored origination and repeated--Flunk" link.

  5. You will get a "correct" screen to show that was the correct coaching action. Close out the two small screens.

  6. Now do it again, but coach the last bit wrongly:

  7. Click on Drill 2b. You will hear the student ask, "Do birds fly?"

  8. As pc, make a simple origination about your case that won't require anything other than being acknowledged. Say the sessions are really going well or something like that. Close the screen where the student asked the question.

  9. Click the "I made a simple origination" link. Do this in addition to saying your origination aloud. Assume the student understood what you said, as it should have been very straightforward. Hear the student ignore your origination about your case, and treat it as a comment, "I'll repeat the auditing question--Do birds fly?"

  10. As coach, pretend the student did the right thing. Say aloud "Good" and press the "Student ignored comment and repeated--Good" link.

  11. You will get an "incorrect" screen to show that was an incorrect coaching action. Close out the two small screens.

  12. Now do these steps again, but correctly this time.

  13. Repeat these steps until you're comfortable with this procedure.
