"You did?!!" and "Really?!!" and such responses do not end the comm cycle, but show the other person you are interested in what they are saying and you want them to say more, even if just to confirm what they were saying before.

"I don't believe a word of it!" still encourages the other person to say more about the subject.

When to use grunts and murmurs versus when to use coherent words in a half-ack will be taken up in Section 3. Section 2 concentrates on honing the ability to distinguish between ending the comm cycle and continuing the comm cycle.

For now, we will not be particularly concerned with the mechanics of what is going on in session, and will just do the drill without thinking too much about it.
